·         Les candidatures pour la CNVR (commission nationale vérité et réconciliation) sont toujours recevables jusqu’au 24 février. Joseph Nyabenda, Conseiller à la Présidence de la République, indique que 56 personnes se sont déjà fait inscrire.

·         Il fait particulièrement chaud dans la plaine de l’Imbo (comprenant Bujumbura Mairie, des parties des provinces de Bujumbura Rural, Bururi, Bubanza, et Cibitoke) les spécialistes en climatologie expliquent le phénomène par l’abondance des gaz à effet de serre, bloquant ainsi la chaleur dégagée par la terre.

·         Candidates for the Truth and reconciliation national commission will be recorded until 24 February. Mr Joseph Nyabenda, President’s advisor, says that 56 persons have been registered as of today.

·         It’s particularly hot in the Imbo plain (including Bujumbura Town, parts of Bujumbura Rural, Bubanza, Cibitoke and Bururi provinces). Specialists in climatology explain the phenomenon as a consequence of too much greenhouse gas, which blocks the heat given off by the earth.

·         Les rebelles du FNL ont mené une attaque avant-hier soir (16-17 février) dans le quartier de Mutanga Nord (Bujumbura Mairie). Bilan: un enfant tué, deux personnes blessées et des biens pillés. Le FNL revendique cette attaque par le biais de son porte-parole. «C’est une façon de montrer que nous sommes encore là», précise Pasteur Habimana, porte-parole du FNL

·         Le Col. Jérémie Ngendakumana tient à préciser qu’il n’existe plus de combattants du CNDD-FDD car ces derniers ont été intégrés dans la nouvelle force de défense nationale. Il réagissait aux accusations de la population impliquant ces combattants dans différentes exactions.

·         FNL rebels led an attack in the neighbourhood of Mutanga Nord (Bujumbura Town) in the night of Wednesday to Thursday 16-17 February. Toll: one child killed, two persons wounded and property looted. The attack was claimed by FNL movement through its spokesperson. “This is a way to show that we are still here,” says Mr Pasteur Habimana, FNL Spokesperson.

·         Reacting to population’s accusation involving CNDD-FDD former combatants in various exactions, Col Jérémie Ngendakumana indicates that there are no more CNDD-FDD combatants as the latter have been integrated in the new national defence force.
